Play Therapy: Children as Young as 3 and Older

Talk Therapy (with creative options): Tweens and Adolescents

What I noticed about Rohini right away was how kind and genuine she is. She communicates well, is refreshingly straightforward, and there is an openness about her that makes her easy to connect with.

She also has an adventurous side and genuinely enjoys trying new things. I love that combination in a therapist working with children: someone who is warm and approachable, but also willing to be creative, playful, and follow a child or teen into their experiences.

Like all of our residents on the play therapy track, Rohini has access to our full library of play therapy trainings and works closely with me as she continues to deepen her play therapy skills. I am excited to have her as part of our team.

Meet Rohini...

I have a special interest in play therapy and working with children and adolescents. I also work part-time in a preschool and elementary school setting, where I provide therapy for children with a wide range of needs, including school and social anxiety, autism, selective mutism, aggression, and disruptive behaviors.

I believe that behavior and play are forms of communication. Children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling or what is happening inside of them.

I love helping children and teens express and make sense of their experiences through play, art and activities while also helping parents better understand what their child/teen may be communicating through their behavior.

I believe parents are an important part of the therapeutic process, so I offer regular parent sessions (if the child is young). I am also trained in Filial Therapy, a playful family therapy approach that teaches parents therapeutic play skills they can use at home to strengthen their relationship with a younger child and support healthier patterns of behavior.

I work with children as young as three through adolescence. Depending on the child’s age, personality, and needs, I can incorporate play therapy, art, sand tray, and talk therapy into our work together. With teens we can sit and talk or incorporate creative modalities to help the sessions feel easier to do.

Outside of the therapy room, I love baking for my friends and family, finding fun and adventurous ways to stay active, and trying new things, especially when I can convince a friend to come along.
