Nicole Howard (Ferree), LPC (she/her)

Licensed Professional Counselor

Virtual Only Therapist: Older Children, Teens and Young Adults

Nicole has been part of FTC since she was an intern, and I have had the privilege of watching her grow in more ways than one.

In the early days of my teaching, she was truly my right-hand person, helping me research, problem-solve, navigate technology, and turn ideas into actual systems.

She is smart, dependable, courageous, and incredibly capable. Nicole is someone I trust. Give her something new or difficult and she will learn it, figure it out, and follow through.

But I think the best measure of Nicole is how much her clients trust her. When her career took her into a leadership position, and later when life took her all the way to Missouri, her clients wanted to stay with her. They had built something with her that mattered.

I am so happy that virtual therapy has allowed Nicole to stay part of FTC too.

Meet Nicole...

I work virtually with older children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, OCD, eating-related concerns, ADHD, autism, and other life challenges.

My background in play therapy helps me bring creativity and interaction into virtual sessions, especially for young people who may not connect with traditional talk therapy.

I also bring experience from my leadership role at Embark Behavioral Health, an intensive outpatient program for teens.

My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and collaborative, with a focus on helping clients better understand themselves, build practical skills, and recognize their strengths.

My advanced training includes play therapy, EMDR, and Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT).

Outside of the office, I enjoy time with my three dogs, exploring new coffee shops, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and spending time with family and friends.
